CakeMatch LLC operates CakeMatch, an online marketplace that helps customers discover independent cake makers and helps bakers manage requests, quotes, orders, and payments.

01

Information we collect

We collect information you give us, including your name, email address, account profile details, cake requests, baker applications, messages, quotes, order information, payment-related records, reviews, portfolio photos, and support requests.

For bakers, this may include private business details, service areas, licenses, food-safety records, insurance certificates, and other documents that you voluntarily upload. We also receive basic device, browser, log, and usage information needed to operate and secure CakeMatch.

02

How we use information

We use information to provide the marketplace, authenticate accounts, match requests, deliver messages and alerts, process payments through our providers, review baker applications, prevent fraud, respond to support requests, enforce our policies, and improve CakeMatch.

We do not sell personal information for money. We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand marketplace activity and improve our services.

03

What customers and bakers can see

A baker can see the customer details needed to consider and fulfill a request. A customer can see the baker's public storefront, portfolio, service information, public badges, and the information the baker chooses to display.

Private legal names, home ZIP codes, credential files, account settings, and internal screening notes are not displayed on public baker profiles. An uploaded credential can support a displayed badge only when CakeMatch verifies the document; CakeMatch does not represent that it issued the credential or guarantees the baker's compliance.

04

Payments and service providers

Payments are processed by Stripe and connected Stripe accounts. We do not store full payment card numbers. Stripe's own privacy terms apply to information Stripe collects or processes.

We use service providers to support hosting, authentication, database/storage, payment processing, email, and private document screening. We provide them only the information reasonably needed to perform the service, subject to appropriate contractual or technical safeguards.

05

Credential screening and AI

When a baker asks CakeMatch to review an uploaded credential, we may use automated tools, including an AI-enabled screening provider, to check document readability and identify apparent document type, issuing state, or expiration. Automated screening does not certify a baker, determine legal eligibility, make a character judgment, or automatically approve or deny an application.

Only authorized CakeMatch personnel and necessary service providers may access private credential documents for this purpose. Bakers may skip optional credentials when no credential is required for their business, but they remain responsible for determining and meeting the laws that apply to them.

06

Retention, security, and your choices

We retain information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including legal, safety, fraud-prevention, tax, and dispute-record obligations. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

You may update many account details in CakeMatch. You may request account deletion or a copy/correction of your information by emailing info@gocakematch.com. We may retain limited information where necessary to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud.

07

Children and changes

CakeMatch is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy as our operations change. We will post the current version here with its last-updated date.
